Villa T – et “arrondi” interiør

Når et beskyttet eksteriør fordrer et ekstraordinært interiør. En familie på fem havde brug for et ekstra soveværelse, så hvert af familiens tre børn kunne få sit eget værelse. I en beskyttet bygning – i arkitekttegnet rækkehus fra 1950’erne – var tilbygning ikke en mulighed.

Derfor tegnede vi et interiør bestående af ét stort arkitektonisk møbel med integrerede løsninger for opbevaring, spiseplads, køkken og daglig brug. Det efterspurgte soveværelse blev bygget i dagligstuen, formet som en kurvet alkove.

Hele projektet er kendetegnet ved sine afrundede, formspændte kurver af egetræ. Yndefuldt som i ballettens verden, hvor begrebet “arrondi” anvendes om en afrundet bevægelse med hånden.

Dette projekt blev realiseret for en privat kunde i Risskov i Aarhus.

Hørning Parket Showroom

The showroom is designed as an artistic presentation of Hørning Parkets flooring. A showcasing of the high quality and craftsmanship Hørning Parket is known for – in a new and interesting way, in a dark gallery with expressive sculptures made from warm wooden floors.

The sculptures were built by Hørning Parkets own craftsmen.

Signatur ring

The signature ring is a composition of four rings in gold or silver – developed in collaboration with jeweller Fie Bodenhoff. The smallest ring fits your finger while the three others rise above as a small sculpture on your hand. By the way, you can visit the bigger sculpture, which also came to be the Frier Architecture logo, in Værkmestergade by Centralværkstedet and Bruuns Galleri in the centre of Aarhus. SIgnature ring is available is for sale in the studio in Aarhus and Copenhagen at Fie Bodenhoff jewellery.

Antilope-borde

The Antilope table series is created by Line and Marie Frier and manifactured by MoreWood in Risskov, Aarhus, using the finest materials and specialized craftsmanship. Since launch in 2013 as part of the interior design for Livsrum Odense Antelope table has been exhibithed around the world among other places in Rio as part of the official danish pavillion on Ipanema beach.

The tables are oak with brass joints and come in a sofa table and a side table.

Villa Strandallé

Frier Architecture has designed a new interior and a specially designed kitchen in a villa from 1947. The interior has a built in nichewall between kitchen and livingroom creating a natural fulcrum.

The interior is covered with oiled oak and has details in brass forming a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The project was finished in the spring of 2014.

Varna Palæet interiør

In the protected Varna Mansion by the coast of Aarhus, Denmark, the Aarhus-chapter of The Independent order of Odd Fellow resides.

In 2014 and 2015 the annex building next to the mansion was renovated to gain a new, modern place for the sisters and brothers of the order to meet. Frier Architecture designed the full interior and designed a series of custom made desks for the speakers and the chairman.

The new interior is warm and northern with a classic and timeless appearance: Moss green carpets and panels, furniture and kitchen in oak with brass details invites the surrounding forest inside.

The project was inaugurated in September 2015.
